Brazilian Dance Festival and Portuguese Intercultural Forum Highlight Community Connections

The 32nd Festival de Dança do Triângulo began in Uberlândia, Brazil, on July 11 and runs through August 2. Organized by the Associação dos Profissionais da Dança de Uberlândia, the event features more than 250 choreographies across competitive and non‑competitive shows, workshops, seminars and free‑stage performances, emphasizing the theme “Conexão, Redes e Interações.” Festival director Vanilton Lakka stressed the importance of local, regional, national and international links for sustaining the festival and supporting artists.

In Castelo de Paiva, Portugal, the URBE‑organized “Comunidade em Conexão” gathering took place at the Centro de Interpretação da Cultura Local. Vice‑president Susana Sousa opened the session, highlighting successful integration strategies for migrants. The forum explored social innovation and intercultural mediation, presenting projects such as ADRIMAG’s network methods and the “Projecto Nós” initiative that uses theater and visual arts to foster inclusion.

Both events illustrate how cultural programming is being used to build bridges between diverse communities in Brazil and Portugal.
