Brazilian dance schools win medals at Joinville's 43rd Festival de Dança

The ballet workshop of the Fundação de Arte e Cultura de Ubatuba (Fundart) earned a bronze medal by placing third in the Jazz category at the 43rd Festival de Dança de Joinville, Brazil’s largest dance competition. The Ubatuba delegation also ranked fifth overall and performed a series of pieces on the festival’s open‑stage venues.

Students from the Parque Diamante +Energia cultural program in Capivari de Baixo secured multiple top‑place finishes, including first‑place Jazz Duo Junior, first‑place Brazilian Popular Dances – Children’s Group, second‑place Contemporary – Female Solo Child, and second‑place Jazz – Children’s Group. The group also received the highest score as Best Group of the Festival and a nomination for Best Choreographer for Luiz Carlos Berto.

The 13‑day event attracted more than 16,000 registered participants and drew over 350,000 spectators, highlighting the strength of Brazil’s regional dance training programs.
