Brazilian defenders Gabriel Recife and Gabriel Índio sign with Nacional and Benfica

Defender Gabriel Recife, 28, who played for Manaus and the Campeonato Amazonense champions, was registered with the CBF on Thursday and is now available for Nacional ahead of the decisive Serie D second‑leg against Araguaína on Sunday.

Seventeen‑year‑old Brazilian central‑defender Gabriel Índice, touted as one of the country’s top prospects, has agreed to join Portuguese giants Benfica. The club has asked FIFA for a special authorization so he can train with the squad before his 18th birthday on 26 July; the transfer will be officially completed after that date.
