Brazilian deputy Paulo Bilynskyj ordered to pay PT R$15,000

The Federal Court of the Distrito Federal sentenced federal deputy Paulo Bilynskyj (PL‑SP) to pay R$15,000 in moral damages to the Workers' Party (PT). The ruling stemmed from the lawmaker's social‑media posts that alleged the PT and President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva were financed by Latin‑American drug trafficking. The judge concluded the accusations went beyond legitimate political debate, rejected the claim of parliamentary immunity, and ordered the permanent removal of the offending content.

Bilynskyj responded on his accounts, describing the decision as a persecution of right‑wing representatives and announced his intention to appeal the judgment.
