Brazilian design and ceramics to be showcased in Paris
Brazilian design and craftsmanship are set to take center stage in Paris through multiple exhibitions. At the Maison & Objet fair, held during Paris Design Week from September 10 to 14, 40 Brazilian companies will participate in a mission organized by ApexBrasil. Curated by architect and designer Bruno Simões, the exhibition follows the concept ‘Brasil Nostalgic’, which seeks to reinterpret Brazilian cultural legacy, modernism, and artisanal traditions through a contemporary lens.
In addition to the design fair, clay sculptures from artisans of the Jequitinhonha Valley will be showcased in two separate exhibitions. One will be part of the Maison & Objet event, while the other, titled ‘A Terra modelada pela arte’, will take place at the Ricardo Fernandes Gallery from September 8 to 18. This second exhibition features the work of 17 ceramicists from the Coletivo do Vale, representing the first international presentation for the group and highlighting the traditional techniques of the Minas Gerais region.
