Brazilian Downhill MTB Championship 2026: Roger Vieira Claims Second Elite Title

Roger Vieira recovered from a poor qualifying run to set a new record on the Morro da Torre track in Paraíba do Sul (RJ) and win his second Brazilian downhill championship. His winning time of 1m52.740s was 2.78 seconds faster than runner‑up Leonardo Becher, while the previous champion, his brother Douglas, missed the event due to injury.

The Associação Downhill do Vinho (ADHV) from Bento Gonçalves placed five athletes on the podium across elite, junior, juvenil and sub‑30 categories, including a vice‑championship for Leonardo Becher and other medals for Lucas Bertol, Leonardo Passos and Nicolas Marini Boch. Team officials highlighted the depth of talent and the growing status of downhill racing in the region.
