Brazilian driver Rafa Câmara tests Ferrari car in Italy ahead of Haas F1 opportunity

Rafael (Rafa) Câmara, a 21‑year‑old Brazilian racing in Formula 2 and a member of the Ferrari Driver Academy, completed a Testing Previous Cars (TPC) session at the Fiorano circuit in Italy. The private test used an older‑model Ferrari and is intended to build experience for a possible future role with the Haas Formula 1 team, which has a technical partnership with Ferrari.

Earlier in the season, Câmara secured a podium in the Hungarian F2 Feature Race, finishing third after starting from the front row. The result cut his points deficit to championship leader Nikola Tsolov to 22 points and left him two points behind fellow contender Gabriele Mini. The podium also reinforced his third‑place standing in the overall F2 championship.

Haas and, to a lesser extent, Cadillac are monitoring Câmara’s progress as they plan driver line‑ups for upcoming seasons. He will reportedly face fellow Ferrari Academy driver Leonardo Fornaroli in any further evaluation. The summer break in European motorsport follows these developments.
