Brazilian drug traffickers arrested in Spain and targeted in São Paulo operation
Two Brazilian nationals were seized aboard a sailboat about 750 km south of the Canary Islands with around 500 kg of cocaine. The vessel was intercepted by Spain’s customs service in a joint operation with the Civil Guard and National Police, and the suspects – including a 36‑year‑old entrepreneur linked to a medical‑equipment firm – were taken to Madrid for prosecution.
In Brazil, Federal Police launched the second phase of Operation Stratus, executing warrants in five municipalities of western São Paulo State. The raid targeted a criminal network that allegedly used clandestine airstrips and aircraft to import more than ten tonnes of cocaine, seizing assets worth over R$9.5 million and issuing multiple arrests and asset‑blocking orders.
