Brazil launches thousands of public‑sector jobs and employment programs in July 2026

A nationwide push to boost employment saw dozens of public‑sector competitions and local hiring drives open in July 2026. A survey by Direção Concursos listed 21 public exams with nearly 6 000 vacancies, offering salaries up to R$ 32,800 and targeting courts, police, tax, education and technology positions across the country.

Municipal authorities also announced several selection processes: the Guard Municipal in Benevides (50 vacancies), the Federal District’s social‑assistance contest (over 4 000 positions), and reserve‑cadre recruitments in Palmeira (PR) and the comarca of Brasnorte (MT). A separate vacancy for a PcD assistant at HEMOSC in Tubarão (SC) was extended to 14 July.

Labor‑market services expanded as well. São Paulo’s Postos de Atendimento ao Trabalhador posted 17 865 openings, while Indaiatuba’s PAT and Banco do Povo reported 3 306 job‑seeker contacts and R$ 75 000 in micro‑credit approvals. Sorocaba’s “Desperte sua Força” group opened enrolments to help job‑seekers with socio‑emotional support.

These initiatives collectively create tens of thousands of new positions and support services, aiming to replenish public‑service staff and reduce unemployment in Brazil.
