Brazilian entrepreneurs launch artisanal and sustainable brands

In Brazil, local entrepreneurs are building sustainable businesses rooted in personal history and social needs. In Campo Grande, Carla Campos founded Botânica Saboaria Artesanal using emergency aid funds during the Covid-19 pandemic. The artisanal soap and personal care brand, which offers over 60 product variations, provides Campos with the professional autonomy necessary to manage her household and care for her autistic child.

In Curitiba, Janaína Valle established the slow fashion brand Chauá, inspired by her grandmother’s sewing skills. Transitioning from a career in tourism, Valle focuses on sustainable practices and inclusive design. The brand emphasizes natural fabrics and custom-made pieces designed to accommodate diverse body types, ranging from sizes PP to XG, through a made-to-order model.
