Brazilian entrepreneurs win BRICS awards in India

Brazilian entrepreneurs have received major recognition at the BRICS Women-Led Development Summit in New Delhi, India.

Úrsula Corona, founder of Instituto Fome de Tudo, won the 2026 BRICS Women’s Business Alliance award in the Agriculture and Food Security category. The institute utilizes a technological platform to connect food producers and supermarkets with schools, hospitals, and communities to redistribute surplus food. Since its founding in 2020, the organization has distributed 9 million meals to approximately 300,000 people and manages the movement of 500 tons of food monthly.

Additionally, entrepreneur Nina Silva secured her second consecutive win at the BRICS Women’s Startup Contest. This year, she was recognized in the Education and Skill Development category for her work with the Movimento Black Money ecosystem. Her previous win in 2025 was for Afreektech, the group’s technological education branch. Silva aims to use this recognition to internationalize her solutions and expand access to capital and digital business tools across the Global South.
