Brazilian environmental groups and PT party convene national meetings in Brasília

From 1 to 3 July 2026, REPAM‑Brasil took part in the National Meeting of Social and Popular Organizations (ENOSP) in Brasília. Delegates from movements, networks and civil‑society groups discussed climate change, social inequality and threats to the rights of Indigenous, quilombola and riverine communities, reaffirming a demand for a development model that puts life and territory protection at its core.

Between 3 and 5 July, the Workers' Party (PT) held a hybrid gathering of its National Secretariat of Environment and Development and state environmental secretaries, also in Brasília. The meeting aimed to strengthen the party’s environmental secretariat, coordinate policy priorities for the second half of 2026, and integrate the socio‑environmental agenda into the party’s electoral strategy, with emphasis on dialogue with movements and support for candidates committed to climate and Indigenous rights.
