Brazilian Equestrian Confederation clarifies team selection for Aachen 2026
The Brazilian Equestrian Confederation (CBH) has issued a clarification regarding the selection of the national show jumping team for the 2026 FEI World Championships in Aachen, Germany. The statement follows social media criticisms from rider Yuri Mansur, who announced his intention to stop representing Brazil and accused the federation of mismanagement.
According to the CBH, seven athletes were initially called up in June, with the understanding that five would travel to Aachen—four as starters and one as a reserve. The final selection was contingent upon a technical evaluation period held in Aachen between August 11 and 16. The decision was made by international coach Franke Sloothaak based on technical performance.
The CBH noted that after the probable team composition was communicated, Mansur decided to leave the training center. Consequently, Pedro Muylaert was called from the waiting list to join the team. The federation maintained that no prior confirmation of starting positions existed and that all nominated athletes were subject to technical evaluation.
