Brazilian fashion industry highlights market evolution and brand milestones
Bruno Uchôa, fashion editor for Harper’s Bazaar Brasil, recently discussed the evolution and challenges of the Brazilian fashion market during the Metrópoles Catwalk event in Brasília. Uchôa highlighted the importance of hosting major fashion events outside the traditional Rio-São Paulo axis and emphasized the necessity for the industry to reinvent itself through immersive, experiential events to keep pace with digital advancements.
In the commercial sector, the Brazilian brand Colcci is celebrating its 40th anniversary with a capsule collection centered on denim. Founded in 1986 in Brusque, Santa Catarina, the brand has integrated denim into its core identity, producing approximately 850,000 denim pieces annually. The anniversary collection revisits classic denim elements from the 1990s and 2000s, blending them with modern materials like tulle and lace.
