Brazilian federal deputies boost development projects in Amazon and Tocantins
Federal deputy Saullo Vianna (MDB‑AM) visited Tefé in the Amazon region, attending the inauguration of a new campus of the Federal Institute of Amazonas and inspecting the Ponte do Abial. He highlighted more than R$34.5 million secured for the municipality, funding health, infrastructure and other development needs.
Former Dianópolis mayor José Salomão, a pre‑candidate for the federal legislature (PT), joined a federal health programme rollout in Tocantins, receiving a patient‑transport van and a mobile dental unit for the municipality. He noted President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva’s pledge of over R$250 million for a women’s hospital and maternity centre, and the announcement of a new specialised rehabilitation centre in the state.
Both officials presented the initiatives as evidence of continued federal investment in regional health and infrastructure projects across Brazil’s interior.
