Brazilian Federal Highway Police seize smuggled medicines and steroids
The Brazilian Federal Highway Police (PRF) seized approximately 4,000 boxes of smuggled medicines and anabolic steroids during an inspection on the BR-277 highway in Santa Terezinha de Itaipu, Paraná. The products originated from Paraguay.
A 45-year-old driver was arrested in flagrante after confessing that the illegal cargo was destined for Sorocaba, São Paulo. During the routine stop of a Volkswagen T-Cross, officers noted the driver's nervousness and discovered an illegally installed radio communicator.
In addition to the medical supplies found in the trunk, floor, and rear seat, authorities seized 11,000 dollars in cash hidden in the driver's personal belongings. The vehicle, currency, and seized materials were transferred to the Federal Revenue Service in Foz do Iguaçu, while the suspect was placed at the disposal of the Federal Police.
