Brazilian Federal Institutes announce free training programs
Several Brazilian Federal Institutes have announced new free educational opportunities.
The Instituto Federal de Minas Gerais (IFMG) has opened applications for a 100% online postgraduate specialization in Artificial Intelligence Applied to Strategy and Business Innovation. The course, coordinated by the Formiga campus, offers a 390-hour curriculum. Applications are open from August 24 to September 30, 2026, via the internet. While the course itself is free, there is a registration fee of R$ 120.00, though candidates may apply for a fee waiver.
Separately, the Instituto Federal de Alagoas (Ifal) is offering 50 vacancies for a free course in Biodigestor Operation Assistant at the Penedo campus. This 160-hour program aims to train professionals in the monitoring and maintenance of biodigestors for biogas and organic waste treatment. The course is in-person, held during evening hours, and includes assistance for transportation and food expenses. Applications are open until September 3, 2026, and the program includes a measure to ensure at least 30% of vacancies are filled by women.
