Brazil's Federal Police reject Daniel Vorcaro's second plea‑bargain proposal

On 11 June 2026 the Brazilian Federal Police (PF) refused a second plea‑bargain proposal submitted by banker Daniel Vorcaro. The rejection was communicated to Supreme Court minister André Mendonça and the Prosecutor‑General’s Office (PGR), which continues to review the material. Investigators said the proposal offered no new evidence and did not contain an admission of wrongdoing.

Vorcaro, former owner of the now‑liquidated Banco Master, was re‑arrested on 4 March during the third phase of Operation Compliance Zero, a probe into alleged frauds that may have caused losses of up to R$ 12 billion. He remains detained in a Federal Police super‑intendence office in Brasília. A first plea‑bargain request was also rejected in May for similar reasons.

The new submission reportedly referenced alleged payments to politicians, including senator Ciro Nogueira and former Senate president Davi Alcolumbre, but authorities deemed the information insufficient to merit an agreement. The case continues to be examined by the PGR while Vorcaro seeks to negotiate further.
