Brazilian Federal Police Reject Vorcaro Plea Deal

Director‑general of Brazil's Federal Police, Andrei Rodrigues, announced that the agency will not accept the plea‑bargain (delação premiada) offered by former banker Daniel Vorcaro. He stated there is “no technical interest, no legal elements to authorize this plea deal, because many of the things being told are already known to us.”

The proposal, submitted for the investigation into a suspected multibillion‑real fraud at Banco Master, did not contain any new factual information or documentary proof. The police already possess evidence from eight seized phones, messages and other documents linking Vorcaro to the scheme, which allegedly harmed depositors, investors and state and municipal pension funds.

This is the second plea‑bargain request rejected; a prior offer in May was also dismissed, leading Vorcaro to replace his legal team. The Federal Police communicated its decision to Supreme Court minister André Mendonça, the case’s rapporteur, and to the Attorney General’s Office.
