Brazilian federal universities announce faculty recruitment

Two Brazilian federal universities have announced public examinations to recruit new faculty members.

The Universidade Federal de São João del-Rei (UFSJ) is seeking one professor for the Medicine I, II, or III area. The position requires a doctoral degree in fields such as clinical pathology, laboratory medicine, or hematology. The role offers a basic monthly salary of R$ 26,326.81 under an exclusive dedication regime. Applications are open from September 23 to October 22, 2026.

Meanwhile, the Universidade Federal de Pelotas (UFPel) has opened applications for 32 professor positions across 28 different areas of knowledge. The selection process includes written and didactic exams, a memorial defense, and a title examination. UFPel’s recruitment includes affirmative action policies, reserving 40% of vacancies for Black, Indigenous, and Quilombola candidates, and 5% for persons with disabilities. Applications are available until October 4.
