Brazilian female footballers engage with students in social projects

Brazilian national team defender Bruna Benites participated in a discussion with over 50 girls from the ‘ABC da Bola com as Meninas’ social project in the Restinga neighborhood of Porto Alegre. The event, held at Escola Vinícius de Moraes, focused on Benites’ professional trajectory, the challenges of a football career, and the importance of dedication.

The social project, which serves girls aged 10 to 17, uses sports as a tool for social inclusion and development. It is an initiative by Eduarda Luzielli and operates across 15 units in Rio Grande do Sul, supported by partnerships including the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) and CEEE Equatorial.

Similar initiatives involving former national team players have been conducted in public schools to provide young students with female role models. These programs aim to bridge the gap between new generations and pioneers who overcame structural barriers and historical legal restrictions that once prohibited women from practicing sports in Brazil.
