Brazilian festivals boost accessibility with Libras and audio description

The FIT Rio Preto 2026 festival has integrated accessibility throughout its program, offering performances in Brazilian Sign Language (Libras) and other resources to enable participation by deaf and disabled audiences. Coordinator Milena Bertoni emphasized that accessibility must be embedded from the creation stage, not added later, to ensure the right of all people to experience the arts.

At the 23rd International Literary Festival of Paraty (Flip), the accessibility firm All Dub provided Libras interpretation and audio description for debates and activities, allowing people with disabilities to follow the event. CEO Ana Motta highlighted that true inclusion goes beyond physical ramps, serving as a tool for citizenship and equal participation in cultural life. All Dub has previously supported accessibility at major Brazilian venues and events such as Rock in Rio, CCBB, and the Bienal do Livro.
