Saga Jazz Festival 2026 – Fernanda Abreu headlines closing show in Pirenópolis
Brazilian pop icon Fernanda Abreu was the special guest of the Saga Jazz Festival 2026, delivering the festival’s closing performance on 15 August. She shared the stage with the electro‑acoustic big‑band project Grooveria Eletroacústica at the historic Casarão Serra do Ouro in Pirenópolis, Goiás. Festival organizer Fausto Valle Jr. said Abreu’s presence “perfectly synthesises the symbiosis of jazz with Brazilian street‑level rhythms”.
The fourth edition also featured the Igor Gnomo Trio, which blends jazz, rock and Northeastern rhythmic matrices, and “Hermeto Universal”, a tribute to Hermeto Pascoal led by guitarist Gabriel Grossi and pianist Laurent Coulondre. The event highlighted a fusion of traditional jazz structures with samba‑funk, maracatu, baião and other regional sounds.
Tickets were sold through Sympla, and the open‑air venue offered high‑fidelity sound, extensive LED lighting and a gastronomic area amidst the cerrado’s iconic ipê blossoms.
