Brazilian film 'Antártida' releases trailer starring Marina Ruy Barbosa

Paris Filmes released the first official trailer for "Antártida" on Thursday, showcasing the new Brazilian thriller produced by Globo Studios in partnership with TV Globo. Directed by Bruno Safadi from a script by Claudia Jouvin, the film follows a Brazilian research base in Antarctica where a newly arrived scientist, Inês (Marina Ruy Barbosa), is assaulted, prompting an investigation led by sub‑commander Elisabeth (Andrea Beltrão) amid growing suspicion of the male personnel.

The trailer highlights the production’s use of a large virtual studio in Rio de Janeiro, employing LED walls, artificial‑intelligence tools and augmented‑reality technology to recreate the icy landscape. "Antártida" will open the 54th Gramado Film Festival and is slated for a nationwide theatrical release on 17 September.
