Brazilian Fire Departments Mark 56th and 150th Anniversaries

The 10th Fire Department Group in Marília, São Paulo, celebrated its 56th anniversary with a ceremony at the local medical association, attended by mayor Vinicius Camarinha and other officials who praised the corps for its long‑standing service to the community.

In the state of Amazonas, the Legislative Assembly held a special session to honor the 150th anniversary of the Corpo de Bombeiros Militar do Amazonas. Lawmaker known as Comandante Dan highlighted recent legislation that doubled the number of municipalities served and announced funding for a new high‑rise rescue training tower and other safety programs. Colonel Orleilso Ximenes Muniz, the corps’ commander, thanked the legislators for their support in modernizing and expanding fire‑protection services across the state.
