Brazil firms accelerate AI adoption and skill development
Lenovo announced an expanded Lenovo Hybrid AI Advantage portfolio that adds new inference and Agentic AI platforms designed to lower token costs and enable AI deployment from devices to data‑centers. The offerings, built with partners such as NVIDIA, Intel, Red Hat and Canonical, include a CPU‑only solution that doubles simultaneous request capacity and reduces latency.
A MIT Technology Review Insights report, conducted with EDB Postgres AI, found that 95 % of organizations worldwide plan to create their own AI and data platforms within three years. Thirteen percent are “deeply committed” to AI sovereignty and report roughly five‑times higher ROI. The top drivers are security (85 %), data localisation (74 %) and control over AI models (72 %). About 45 % already operate hybrid infrastructures, a trend echoed in Brazil’s new SoberanIA ecosystem and the pending PBIA legislation.
Research by Notion shows that 88 % of companies still use AI inefficiently, with only 12 % at a mature integration level and merely 2 % treating AI as an autonomous system. Gaps remain in governance and performance measurement, underscoring a need for broader organizational change.
In São Paulo, the Hyper Island Future Skills Masterclass (19‑20 Aug 2026) will address the human capabilities required for AI‑driven work. Studies from the World Economic Forum and McKinsey indicate that by 2030 a large share of job skills will shift toward AI, big‑data, cybersecurity, creative thinking and continuous learning, prompting firms to redesign processes and governance.
An open‑source project, DashAI, explores merging predictive machine‑learning and generative AI on a single platform, highlighting architectural considerations such as unified dataset management, plugin‑based model integration and auto‑generated user interfaces.
