Brazilian firms pilot AI agents, early efficiency gains reported

A survey by the Management Institute of Automation (MIA) using the IEG Analytics platform finds that AI agents are still in early adoption stages among Brazilian companies. About 35% of firms are running pilot projects, 31% are researching the technology, 25% have deployed agents in specific processes, and only 2% operate them at scale.

Respondents say the technology already delivers benefits: 94% of shared service centers report higher efficiency and productivity, 56% note more time for strategic work, and 54% observe reduced operational costs. One executive quoted the findings, saying, "Na prática, isso se traduz em operações mais enxutas, atendimento mais ágil e maior capacidade analítica."

The study also highlights implementation hurdles: data security and privacy concerns (59%), insufficient technical skills (52%), integration complexity (48%), difficulty proving ROI (35%) and implementation costs (33%). Internal resistance is low, at 4%, but requires clear governance, staff training, and robust architecture. The Institute of Engineering Management (IEG) aims to spread best practices through data collection, case‑study sharing, and events to accelerate market maturity.
