Brazilian food retail sector to discuss technology at Food Retail Future
The Brazilian food retail sector is preparing for the Food Retail Future event, organized by the Brazilian Association of Supermarkets (ABRAS), scheduled for September 20–23 in Campinas, São Paulo. The event is expected to host over one thousand leaders, including executives and specialists, to discuss industry strategies and future trends.
A key focus of the upcoming discussions is the integration of technology in operational and workforce management. José Pedro Fernandes, Executive Vice President of SISQUAL WFM, noted that the sector is undergoing a transformation driven by data, automation, and artificial intelligence. This shift impacts how retail networks plan shifts and schedules.
Fernandes emphasized that technological application in workforce management allows for better analysis of operational variables to anticipate needs and improve team sizing. He stated that the transformation should not focus solely on productivity, but also on balancing operational efficiency with employee quality of life and improved consumer experiences.
