The Brazilian foodservice sector saw bread generate R$ 19.4 billion between June 2025 and June 2026, according to the Instituto Foodservice Brasil (IFB). Data from the Instituto de Desenvolvimento das Empresas de Alimentação (IDEAL) indicates a 2.31% decline in bakery customer flow between January and May 2026. Consumption patterns are shifting toward convenience, which accounted for 45% of occasions, while indulgence-based consumption dropped to 41%. Bread remains present in 31% of menus across restaurants, bakeries, and cafes.
In the delivery sector, iFood projects a 60% increase in sales during this year's Black Friday compared to 2025. The platform's campaign will feature discounts of up to 60%, potentially reaching 80% in November. The strategy emphasizes expansion beyond meal delivery into categories such as pharmacies and markets, which already represent 35% of the company's revenue.
