Brazilian football: 2027 Série B and C lineups take shape

The landscape for the 2027 Brazilian football seasons is taking shape following the conclusion of recent divisional rounds. In Série B, Santa Cruz, Maringá, Ferroviária, and Inter de Limeira have secured promotion from Série C. Notably, Inter de Limeira returns to the second division after 36 years, while Santa Cruz returns after nine seasons.

The potential for a highly competitive Série B in 2027 is heightened by the possibility of major clubs, such as Corinthians, Internacional, or Grêmio, facing relegation from Série A.

Meanwhile, the 2027 Série C will expand from 20 to 24 participants. Currently, 22 teams are confirmed for the third division, including Botafogo-PB, América-MG, and Paysandu. The final two spots will be filled by teams relegated from Série B.
