Brazilian lower‑division clubs prepare for crucial weekend fixtures

Confiança intensified training ahead of its Serie C clash with Volta Redonda, focusing on strength work and tactical drills before the match on June 14 in Rio de Janeiro. In Mato Grosso, four clubs – Luverdense, Primavera, Mixto and União – remain in contention for qualification to the Serie D knockout stage, with each needing a win in the final round of group play. On loan from Internacional, left‑back Ramon helped Vitória capture the Copa do Nordeste title after a 2‑1 victory over Fortaleza. A full slate of Serie B and Serie D matches is scheduled for the weekend, including Operário‑PR vs Juventude, Criciúma vs Londrina and numerous regional encounters such as America‑RJ vs Água Santa and Madureira vs Pouso Alegre. The Paulista Sub‑23 competition also resumes with AD Guarulhos facing Paulínia and Assisense meeting Santa Fé. In the Serie D group phase, Goiatuba hosts Operário VG, while Águia de Marabá lost 2‑0 to Trem‑AP but secured second place in its group and a spot in the next round.
