Brazilian football clubs review or approve SAF transitions

Brazilian football clubs América and Santo André are undergoing significant administrative shifts regarding the implementation of the Sociedade Anônima do Futebol (SAF) model.

América Futebol Clube has called an extraordinary meeting of its Deliberative Council to review contracts and management related to its SAF. The agenda includes the investment contract with HI. PE Participações, the shareholders' agreement, and the lease agreement for the Abílio Medeiros Training Center. Representatives will present information on administrative decisions and financial oversight to address questions regarding the execution of these agreements.

Esporte Clube Santo André is preparing for a decisive vote by its Deliberative Council to approve the creation and sale of a SAF to an undisclosed company. If approved, the proposal will move to a general assembly of members. Because the club is currently in judicial recovery, the transition also requires judicial approval. The move aims to professionalize administration and increase revenue, with the new company expected to manage 90% of the football department while the club retains responsibility for its social activities.
