CRB becomes Alagoas' most successful club after CBF recognizes nine early titles

The Confederação Brasileira de Futebol (CBF) officially recognized nine state championships won by Clube de Regatas Brasil (CRB) between 1918 and 1926. The titles, organized by the former Liga Alagoana de Futebol, were validated after the club submitted a robust historical dossier. With the added titles, CRB’s total rises to 45 Alagoas championships, overtaking rival Centro Sportivo Alagoano (CSA), which holds 40.

The CBF’s decision, based on its statutes granting exclusive authority over state‑level competition records, does not affect the club’s points in the national club ranking (RNC) or any other CBF‑maintained rankings. CRB plans a presentation of the dossier in Maceió, alongside the launch of a book, a documentary trailer, and the creation of a club foundation and memorial.

The recognition solidifies CRB’s status as the state’s record holder, marking the first time the club is officially acknowledged as a decacampeão of Alagoas football.
