Brazilian football federations face leadership and statute changes

In Pernambuco, Evandro Carvalho is expected to be acclaimed for a final four-year term as president of the Federação Pernambucana de Futebol (FPF). This follows negotiations where Carvalho accepted 15 points proposed by a group of clubs, including those led by Retrô president Laércio Guerra, aimed at restructuring football management in the region. This upcoming term is anticipated to serve as a transition period to prepare a successor.

In Rio Grande do Sul, Sport Club Internacional is evaluating its stance on a proposed statutory change within the Federação Gaúcha de Futebol (FGF). The proposal, suggested by the current FGF administration, seeks to remove limits on consecutive reelections, which could allow a president to remain in power indefinitely. Internacional president Alessandro Barcellos expressed concern regarding the issue, noting that the club's own statutes emphasize the importance of periodic leadership transitions.
