Brazilian football highlights top scorers and Nenê's Maracanã appearance
In the 2026 Brasileirão era of round-robin points, several clubs feature their all-time leading scorers in their current squads. Recent shifts include Tiquinho Soares for Botafogo, who surpassed Lúcio Flávio with 29 goals, and Kaio Jorge for Cruzeiro, who reached 34 goals, overtaking Wellington Paulista.
Other current squad leaders include Yuri Alberto (Corinthians), Pedro (Flamengo), Neymar (Santos), Eduardo Sasha (Red Bull Bragantino), Reinaldo (Mirassol), and Jajá (Remo).
Separately, 45-year-old midfielder Nenê, currently playing for Botafogo-PB, attended a Copa Sul-Americana match at the Maracanã between Vasco and Boca Juniors. Nenê, a former Vasco player with 60 goals for the club, was cheered by the crowd. Despite finishing the 2026 season as the top scorer for Botafogo-PB, his team failed to secure promotion to Serie B.
