Brazilian football: Tactical debates at Internacional and Fluminense

In Brazilian football, commentator Arnaldo Ribeiro has criticized Fluminense ahead of their Copa Libertadores semifinal first leg against Palmeiras. Ribeiro described Fluminense as a “team of veterans” with an interim coach, contrasting them with Palmeiras, which he characterized as a long-term project featuring high-value signings and players in their prime.

Separately, former Internacional defender Bolívar discussed the tactical decisions of coach Eduardo Baptista regarding player Carbonero. Bolívar cited a specific moment during the Gre-Nal derby where Carbonero failed to complete an offensive play and walked back slowly during a counter-attack, which Bolívar suggested contributed to the player being used as a substitute. Baptista noted that while Carbonero is a top scorer, recent tactical setups have prioritized different configurations.
