Clube do Remo announces Alef Manga departure and Rangel renewal

Clube do Remo is managing significant roster changes involving key players. The club has confirmed the departure of forward Alef Manga following a verbal dispute with defender and captain Marllon. The incident, which occurred after a match against Santos on September 19, reportedly extended from the pitch into the locker room. While the club announced his exit, Manga’s representatives stated that the disagreement involved no physical aggression and was intended to benefit the club. The player’s staff also noted that Manga learned of his dismissal through the media rather than official club communication.

In contrast, the club is moving toward a long-term commitment with goalkeeper Marcelo Rangel. President Antônio Carlos Teixeira confirmed that a three-year contract renewal is being negotiated. The proposal includes a career plan that would allow the 38-year-old goalkeeper to remain with the institution in a coaching or preparatory role after his retirement. The finalization of the deal remains subject to the club’s financial capacity.
