Brazilian footballers compete in Japan's J2 League
Brazilian footballers are making notable appearances in Japan's second division. Iury Castilho, a 31-year-old striker formerly of Vitória, has joined Albirex Niigata on a one-season loan. He made an immediate impact by scoring in his debut match during a victory over Júbilo Iwata.
In contrast, 35-year-old Edigar Junio, a former Bahia player, is facing a difficult period with Imabari. Currently in his eighth season in Japan, Junio has scored only one goal in seven matches this season. His club, Imabari, currently sits at the bottom of the J2 League standings.
