Brazilian gas utilities roll out digital platform and expand natural‑gas network
The state‑owned gas company Sergipe Gás S/A (Sergas) launched its Virtual Agency in December 2025, a 24‑hour online portal that lets industrial, commercial and residential customers manage accounts, pay bills, request services and report leaks via mobile or computer. Company director‑president Alan Lemos said the system aims to increase convenience, safety and efficiency for users, and entrepreneurs such as restaurant owner Luciana Diniz reported time‑saving benefits.
In Ceará, the gas distributor CEGÁS inaugurated natural‑gas service in the Cariri region on 3 March, connecting the first industry at the Trevo Drywall site. Officials including state secretary Hélio Leitão and local mayors attended, and partners Mitsui Gás, Norgás, GNLink and Trevo Drywall were highlighted. CEGÁS director‑president Eduardo Marzagão emphasized the project’s potential to lower energy costs, boost industrial competitiveness and provide cleaner fuel to households.
