Brazilian Governor Eduardo Leite Announces Separation from Partner Thalis Bolzan

Governor Eduardo Leite of Rio Grande do Sul confirmed that he and physician Thalis Bolzan have ended their stable union after more than six years together. The separation was announced about a month after Bolzan left the Palácio Piratini, the governor’s official residence, where he had lived since 2024. Leite said the decision was made jointly, with “dialogue, respect and affection,” and asked for privacy. The couple made their relationship public in 2021 when Leite disclosed his sexual orientation, and it was frequently featured in campaign events and media coverage. Their four dogs remain at the residence for now.
