Paraná gubernatorial race: Moro leads in polls amid legal dispute
In the race for the government of Paraná, recent polling shows Sergio Moro (PL) leading with 35.3% of the stimulated votes, followed by Sandro Alex (PSD) at 30.6% and Requião Filho (PDT) at 20.1%. The 4.7 percentage point difference between Moro and Alex falls within the 2.83 margin of error, indicating a statistical tie.
Simultaneously, the electoral campaign has faced legal scrutiny. The Fortaleza Paraná coalition, representing Sergio Moro, obtained a preliminary injunction against Sandro Alex for the alleged use of public resources for campaign purposes. The Electoral Court ordered the removal of a video featuring Governor Ratinho Junior and Sandro Alex, which was filmed during a state-funded hospital expansion event. The court ruled that the content exceeded institutional coverage and functioned as electoral propaganda, imposing a daily fine of R$ 50,000 for non-compliance.
Campaign activities for the candidates have continued across the state, with Sandro Alex participating in rallies in Pontal do Paraná and Matinhos, while Sergio Moro held carreatas and a walk in Guaratuba.
