Brazilian health facilities appeal for urgent blood donations
Health institutions in Brazil are calling for urgent blood donations to replenish critical stocks.
The Hemocentro Regional de Jataí, part of the Rede Hemo network in Goiás, reports that blood levels have fallen below ideal levels in recent weeks. Officials state that all blood types are needed to support essential procedures, including transplants, oncology treatments, and care for patients with chronic diseases such as sickle cell anemia and thalassemia.
In Pará, the Hospital Regional Dr. Abelardo Santos (HRAS) is also mobilizing the public through a campaign in partnership with the Fundação Hemopa. Donors are encouraged to visit Hemopa collection sites and use the specific code 2105 to ensure their donation is directed to the hospital to support ongoing patient treatments.
