Brazilian health facilities train doctors and staff on rapid tests

The Santa Casa de Misericórdia in Araraquara, Brazil, held a training session for medical residents of all specialties on June 27. Lectures covered trauma care, thoracentesis, central venous access and cardiopulmonary resuscitation, emphasizing safe, protocol‑driven practice.

In Várzea Grande, Mato Grosso, the municipal health secretariat organized a multi‑day capacitation for technical responsibles of basic health units. The program taught proper handling of rapid‑test kits for HIV, syphilis and hepatitis, data entry into the SISGLAB system, and patient referral procedures to specialized services. The training aimed to standardise processes and improve the speed, safety and quality of primary‑care diagnostics.
