Jaraguari receives new school facilities and paved road
The governor of Mato Grosso do Sul inaugurated major upgrades to the Escola Estadual José Serafim Ribeiro in Jaraguari, adding accessibility features, five new classrooms—including science and computer labs—climatization, updated sports courts, furniture and equipment, with an investment of R$ 7.6 million. In the same ceremony, the state completed paving of 11.48 km of the MS‑010 highway between Rochedinho and the Quilombo Furnas do Dionísio, spending R$ 30.9 million. The new road improves safety, reduces travel time, facilitates school transport and agricultural logistics, and boosts tourism to the historic quilombola community. The governor highlighted the projects as part of the state’s strategy to expand integral‑time schooling (now 63 % of schools) and promote regional development, while the municipal mayor praised the partnership with the state government.
