João Pessoa implements various municipal service improvements

The municipal government of João Pessoa has launched several initiatives to improve public services and community welfare. The municipal health department (SMS) has completed the delivery of specialized work kits to 57 sanitary surveillance professionals, providing tools such as digital thermometers, tablets, and laser measuring tapes to enhance inspection efficiency and safety.

In public health, the SMS is intensifying syphilis prevention campaigns through December, offering rapid testing and educational activities in schools and public spaces following a rise in local cases. Additionally, the 'Caravana do Cuidar' program provided free health, social assistance, and citizenship services to residents of the Alto do Céu neighborhood.

Infrastructure and digital modernization are also priorities. The municipal application ‘João Pessoa na Palma da Mão’ has surpassed 518,000 downloads, allowing citizens to request services ranging from medical exams to urban maintenance. Meanwhile, the Secretariat of Urban Development (Sedurb) and the Secretariat of Infrastructure (Seinfra) are conducting daily tree pruning and widespread pothole repair operations across 42 neighborhoods to ensure urban safety.
