A Brazilian woman who had been on the run from the Santa Catarina justice system since 2023 was captured by Italian police in Turin on 18 June 2026. The Federal Police of Brazil had flagged her through an Interpol Red Notice issued on 11 June 2026 after confirming she was linked to a 2021 attempted qualified homicide in Blumenau, Santa Catarina. Following her arrest, she will remain detained in Italy while legal procedures are completed, after which she is slated to be handed over to Brazilian authorities for extradition.

The operation highlights the cooperation between Brazil’s Federal Police and Interpol in tracking fugitives abroad.
