Brazilian hospitals achieve medical excellence milestones

Hospital Cassems de Dourados has received national certifications for its intensive care units. The institution's ICU B was awarded the ‘Top Performer’ seal, recognizing high clinical efficiency and low mortality rates, while ICU C received the ‘UTI Eficiente’ seal for excellence in operational management and resource optimization. These honors were granted by Epimed Solutions in partnership with the Associação de Medicina Intensiva Brasileira (AMIB).

In another regional development, Hospital Universitário Santa Terezinha (HUST) is marking three years of providing high-complexity orthopedic surgery services. Since its formal implementation in 2023, the hospital has performed 1,130 specialized procedures, including knee and hip arthroplasties and revisions. The service, which was planned starting in 2019, aims to provide specialized care to patients in the Mid-West region of Santa Catarina, particularly elderly patients facing mobility limitations.
