Goiás government orders Instituto CEM to repay 37 million over health‑service contract breach

The State Health Secretariat of Goiás issued an extrajudicial notice demanding that Instituto CEM return R$ 37 million for alleged failure to meet performance targets while managing four state polyclinics and the Hospital de Urgências Dr. Valdemiro Cruz between 2020 and 2024. The notice lists R$ 19.1 million for the hospital and smaller amounts for each polyclinic, gives a ten‑day deadline to present a defence, repay the sums or request a payment plan, and warns of a special audit if the debt is not settled.
