Brazilian influencers seek new revenue after betting ban

Following the Brazilian government's prohibition of fixed-odds betting and online casinos, several high-profile influencers are seeking alternative revenue streams or advocating for the industry's return.

Influencer Yuri Brida revealed during a live stream that he previously earned nearly R$ 8 million per month from betting platforms. He expressed support for political figures who might facilitate the return of these services. Similarly, celebrities Jojo Todynho and Davi Brito are pivoting to other commercial opportunities. Todynho announced her participation in a pharmacy opening in Rio de Janeiro, while Brito has made himself available for advertising campaigns starting at R$ 500.

The debate over regulation versus prohibition continues in Brazil. While the current administration implemented the ban to protect families from the impacts of gambling, proponents of the industry argue that regulation is preferable to a total ban, suggesting that restrictions may simply drive users toward illegal platforms.
