Several martial arts athletes achieved significant victories in recent international and regional competitions. At the World Karate Federation (WKF) Championships in Poland, Portuguese athletes Isis Matos and Vasco Mateus secured silver medals. Matos, the world number one in the Junior Female Kumite (-48 kg) category, reached the final before narrowly losing 3-2. Mateus became the first Portuguese athlete to reach an individual Kata final at a World Championship, securing silver after a 4-1 victory in the final match.

In Jiu-Jitsu, Brazilian athlete Valentina Amorim, aged 9, won gold at the DTrone Cup in Porto, Portugal, following a recent European championship title. In Albufeira, Portugal, Luciano Candal earned three gold medals at an International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) event, winning in the Heavyweight and Absolute categories, as well as in No-Gi.

Regional Brazilian competitions also saw success, with João Pedro Modesto Costa winning the Juiz de Fora Open in the adult purple belt category, and a team from Venda Nova securing 12 medals at the 9th Stage of the Capixaba Jiu-Jitsu Federation state championship in Alegre.
